The goal of the Tutor/Mentor Institute, LLC and the Tutor/Mentor Connection is to help volunteer-based tutor/mentor programs grow in all high poverty neighborhoods of Chicago, and in other cities, so more stories like this will be seen in future years. From 1992 to 2011 more than 1,000 donors sent contributions of $10 to $5,000 each year to support the "local-global" strategy described on this web site. As of June 30, 2011 the "global" strategy is of the T/MC is no longer part of the Cabrini Connections non-profit organization. Dan Bassill has created Tutor/Mentor Institute, LLC (Limited Liability Corporation) to continue to grow the Tutor/Mentor Connection in Chicago to support the growth of similar intermediary organizations in other urban areas.
